Poems of 1999.

The words, they cut me like a knife
And left a hollow ring
That one so young should have to face
Such a tragic thing

A week to remember,
A week to forget!
The Special Brew flowed
From sunrise to sunset!

My ex-lover called -
While my lover did not;
And the love of my life
May soon tie the knot !!

I’ve seen the beast of Bodmin
I’ve paddled in the sea
But the water was so flippin cold
The made me want to wee!

The village shop has closed down
This is a bitter pill
As now I have to haul my lager
Five miles home - uphill !!

I’ve walked the coastal footpath
I’ve trecked across the moor
My little legs are aching
And my back is pretty sore

I’m suffering from sunburn
I’ve blisters on my feet !
I’m running out of money
And I can’t afford to eat!

A tidal wave hit Padstow!!
The pub’s run out of beer!!
But this holiday is MARVELLOUS
I’m coming back next year !!!

He passed so close I thought I felt
His breath upon my face
So close that for a moment
We shared each other’s space
He passed so close I almost felt
Him brush against my side
But I was in the Spar shop
While he passed close outside.

I walked the Camel cycle trail
And saw a load of bums
Lots of fat and bulging thighs
And several wobbly tums!

And on my way the rain came down,
I walked - Padstow or bust!
And caught a glimpse of wading birds
Through clouds of cycle dust !!!
