DON
GIOVANI
A wonderful evening
Just Krissi and me,
A night at the Opera
As viewed on T.V.
I watched Don Giovani
Spellbound, and in awe,
And when hell consumed him
I applauded for more.
And I shared the occasion
With fine company
For H.M. the Queen
Enjoyed it with me
But though she was there
So could hear all the words
I just bet that my seat
Was more comfy than hers!
A chinese supper for one
(A real treat, indeed!)
Then my lager and peanuts -
What more could I need?
But the dog’s packed her bags
And threatened to leave home
‘ Less I solemnly swear
to leave Opera alone.

A touch of blue
A hint of grey
The pain I feel
Won’t go away.
The picture that I feel is black,
Until I get, my lover back.

Dear Sarah.
I wanted, sincerely to write you a rhyme
But though I tried hard, I just ran out of time.
I was going to mention just how hard you work (!)
And the way that you cope, with Andrew’s strange quirks.
I would have referred to the time sheets and pay
And the agency sheets, taking most of your day.
I could mention the panics created by ‘God’,
(though some, less polite, prefer calling him sod!).
And Adrian’s passion for his craft and his art,
Though YOUR passion differs (‘cos you’re just a tart!).
You’ll miss manic Mondays, with V.S.M.T.,
And the gloom that descends if budgets don’t meet.
I’d remind you of tea with Don in the store.
Meetings, agendas, and oh, so much more.
But, alas inspiration for good verse is weak,
And I just cannot find the fine words that I seek.
So all that remains is to bid you farewell,
Well done and good luck,
You’ve escaped from this………nice office!!!
Doug and Rene are visiting
to see here favourite niece
Their tummies rumble gently
as they prepare for mid-day feast.
But as Lynne serves the chicken up
she carves it with a frown
‘Wherever can the breast be?’
‘TRY LOOKING UPSIDE DOWN!’
